if asked, some people wouldn’t even know my passion for my country. sure they’ve seen me make 200 chocolate chip cookies or 10 key lime pies or 5 batches of rice crispy treat for a 4th of July BBQ. and they’ve also seen me wear the traditional old navy patriotic t-shirt… after all that is true American consumerism… isn’t it?

but, my passion goes beyond that.

i remember when i was in the 5th grade, studying American history. we memorized the preamble to the Constitution. For some it was no big deal, but for me it was a challenge because i was facing down dyslexia and i didn’t even know it. but, i did not let my unknown hurdles stand in my way. i was going to learn those words and be able to recite it upon request. and i did. and we did. in fact, my class was filmed by a local tv station while reciting it, sitting at our desks, hands folded… it was almost step ford child-ish.

i once had a poly sci professor tell me that everyone has a political agenda revolving around their own ego. that may have been true for him, which it was… everything was all about him, i can honestly say it’s not for me. i truly want to see people utilizing the freedoms (powers) that we have been given. in a world where there are people who have to walk a week for the opportunity to vote, most American’s can’t be bothered with filling in some bubbles on an absentee ballot and then sticking it in the mail. what gives?

how much do we have to loose in order for us to get our crap together? how pissed off do we really need to be in order to motivate us to get off our collective asses and get to the polls?

i came across this video…

this really sparked a flame with me. we have the power… why can’t we be bothered with changing the Kingdom for good?
